Driving Directions to Ballinskelligs

From Killarney follow the N70 Ring of Kerry Road to Killorglin and Cahersiveen(the nearest big town). Continue through Caherciveen heading for Waterville for about 7 Km until you meet a sign signalling the turn right for Ballinskelligs follow the road signs to the Beach at McCarthy's Castle ( One of our most popular star gazing locations and the venue for our Messier Marathon).

 

Travelling from overseas ?

Visitors can fly into Kerry Airport with Aer Lingus Regional or Ryanair There are car hire facilities at the airport.

Bus Eireann Has services from Killarney.

 IRISH Rail The Nearest rail station is located in Killarney and visitors can complete the journey   by bus, taxi or hackney hire.

Driving Time from :

Dublin to Ballinskelligs  5/6hours assume a meal break enroute.
Cork Airport to Ballinskelligs – 2.5 hours
Shannon Airport to Ballinskelligs– 3 hours
Kerry Airport to Ballinskelligs -1.25 hours
Killarney to Ballinskelligs– 1.25 hours

N.B. we strongly advise visitors driving to follow the N70 Ring of Kerry road from Killarney. GPS can take you up some interesting roads which are beautiful but not recommended as a first time visitor experience after a long flight!!
